Tavolara and Molara Tour

Your exclusive NaMar Charter tour in the Marine Protected Area of Tavolara – Punta Coda  Cavallo, featuring coves, inlets, and crystal-clear waters.

If you’re seeking a memorable marine experience in one of the most beautiful places on the  Sardinian coast, this tour is for you.

A pristine nature, beds of Posidonia oceanica teeming with all kinds of marine life, and  waters with brilliant colors reminiscent of precious stones ranging from emerald green to  lapis lazuli blue to bright turquoise: the Marine Protected Area of Tavolara – Punta Coda  Cavallo is a paradise for diving, snorkeling, and boat excursions.

The dense system of islands and islets adds a unique charm to this landscape, contrasting the  softer, rounded granite formations of the smaller islands with the rugged limestone bulk of  Tavolara.

Leave behind worries and stress, embrace the adventure: NaMar Charter will take care of  you, allowing you to fully and safely enjoy a true sensory journey from which you will  emerge rejuvenated.

We set sail from Punta Asfodeli and leave behind the Gulf of Cugnana, with its jagged  coastline full of inlets. We cross Porto Rotondo – synonymous with glamour and fun in  Gallura – and cut across the Gulf of Marinella, heading towards Capo Figari, a splendid

limestone promontory characterized by high cliffs that mark the northernmost part of the Gulf  of Olbia, historically linked to the navigation and early radio experiments of Guglielmo  Marconi.

As we glide over the waters and the breeze touches our skin, breathtaking landscapes pass  before our eyes, leaving us speechless. But the best is yet to come: the “pools” of Molara  await us for a refreshing stop. Located on the southwestern part of Molara, these natural  pools will enchant you with their white sand and turquoise waters framed by granite rocks.  Take time to watch the playful fish chasing each other in the clear depths and the dazzling  reflections of light on the water. The sea calls: enjoy diving or slowly immersing yourself in  these dreamy waters.

Time passes joyfully between splashes and laughter, and it’s already lunchtime. For a regal  meal, simply head to Tavolara, anchor, and sit at one of the panoramic tables at Tonino’s  restaurant, the “King” of Tavolara, tempting you with spaghetti with clams from the Gulf of  Olbia and Cabras bottarga or a tasty seafood fry. Refreshed on the sea-view terrace, savor a  coffee and set off again, this time to discover the charm of the Tavolara marine area.

Known as the “smallest kingdom in the world,” Tavolara is a limestone mountain with a  suggestive rectangular shape, reaching 560 meters above sea level and stretching for about  six kilometers. Its history is tied to King Charles Albert of Savoy, who, according to legend,  came to the island in search of the mythical golden-toothed goats and named Giuseppe  Bertoleoni, Tavolara’s sole inhabitant, “king of the island.”

The island features rugged and towering shapes and a fragrant scrub of lentisk, juniper,  rosemary, strawberry tree, and phillyrea. Tavolara is the heart of a large marine protected  area shared by the municipalities of Olbia, Loiri – Porto San Paolo, and San Teodoro,  covering 15,000 hectares and extending over about 76 km of coastline, considered among the

most beautiful in Sardinia, from Capo Ceraso to Punta s’Isuledda, including numerous  smaller islets such as Molara and Molarotto, Proratora, Isola Piana, and Isola dei Cavalli.

Surrounded by a naturally beautiful setting, you can swim with schools of confident fish,  turtles, dolphins, and small cetaceans in the waters around the Spalmatore di Terra peninsula,  the only area where landing is allowed. Looking up, you might see cormorants, Corsican  gulls, and shearwaters, and if you're lucky, even a golden eagle that once nested on the island.

Our last stop brings us to Cala Moresca, composed of two beautiful golden sandy beaches  overlooking emerald-colored waters that you won’t soon forget. The landscape is dominated  by the small Figarolo Island, with its distinctive pyramid shape. Cala Moresca is undoubtedly  one of the most beautiful bays in the Capo Figari Protected Area; this unspoiled and rarely  beautiful place, a few kilometers from the village of Golfo Aranci, was chosen as the setting  for Disney’s The Little Mermaid, filmed in Sardinia in 2021.

The day is drawing to a close: it’s time to head back, but first, let’s indulge in one last  pleasure and pop a bottle! Sipping a glass of bubbly, we round Capo Figari, cross the Gulf of  Marinella, and re-enter the Gulf of Cugnana, leaving Porto Rotondo to our left and Portisco  to our right. As we return to Punta Asfodeli with eyes full of beauty and hearts brimming  with emotion, we promise to soon experience another NaMar Charter tour.
